Deco&Mat Stationers ("we", "us", "our") operates the Deco&Mat Stationers mobile app and website (the "Service"), a stationery and school-supplies shop. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from you, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following information directly from you when you use the Service:
- Account information: full name, email address, phone number, and delivery address.
- Order information: the products you order, quantities, prices, pickup date, and order status.
- Payment-proof image (optional): if you choose "Pay Online" at checkout, a screenshot or photo you upload as proof of a mobile money / bank transfer. We do not collect or store card numbers, mobile money PINs, or bank login credentials — payments themselves happen outside the app, directly between you and your payment provider.
- Account credentials: your password, stored only as a securely hashed value (bcrypt) — we cannot see or recover your actual password.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, camera roll (beyond the one image you choose to upload), or browsing activity on other apps or websites.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account.
- To process, fulfil, and let you track your orders.
- To verify mobile money / bank payments you submit proof for.
- To contact you about an order (e.g. pickup confirmation, an issue with stock).
- To keep the Service secure — for example, detecting repeated failed login attempts to prevent unauthorized access to accounts.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
3. Who Can See Your Information
Your information is visible to Deco&Mat Stationers staff who manage orders and payments through our internal admin system. We do not share your personal data with outside companies, except where required by law (for example, in response to a valid legal request).
4. Data Storage & Security
- Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored or transmitted in plain text.
- Data is transmitted between the app and our servers over encrypted HTTPS connections.
- Login attempts are rate-limited to reduce the risk of unauthorized account access.
- Uploaded payment-proof images are validated and stored under randomly generated filenames rather than your original filename.
5. Your Rights & Choices
- Access & correction: you can view and edit your name, phone number, and address at any time from the Account tab in the app.
- Deletion: you can permanently delete your account and associated personal data at any time from Account → "Delete My Account" in the app. You can also request deletion by emailing us (see Contact Us below) without needing to reinstall or open the app.
- Order records: for accounting and legal purposes, some order records may be retained even after account deletion, with personal identifiers removed where possible.
6. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. Permissions the App Requests
The app requests access to your photo library only when you choose to attach a payment-proof screenshot at checkout. It does not request camera, location, contacts, or any other device permission.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Effective date" above and, where appropriate, notify you within the app.
